About the Founder
Founded by Shantilal Muttha, a social activist from an early age. The moment he stepped out into the real world, he always took an extra step to help the needy by working in NGOs. He had a tough childhood and since he saw the struggle firsthand, he deeply understood the turmoil of people. He was able to reflect on the problems of others with an inexplicable understanding.
Though, when he started out, it was a basis to fend for himself but during this time, he realized very well, that helping others is what makes his heart happy and is the true purpose of his life. After a lot of consistent and selfless hard work, he finally gathered the courage to invent Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) in 1985 and since then, with the support of thousands of volunteers, BJS has successfully implemented various policies and projects that have helped and in fact, changed the course of life for people nation-wide.
